The fashion colors of fall 2016

Actually I don’t want to think of Fall at all, I’d rather sit out in the sun. Let’s hope for a long Indian Summer with warm days and chill evenings. Though the shops are already filling up with new collections and I must say, the top 10 fall fashion colors do make my fashion heart beat a little faster.

These cool tones are beautiful and can be applied in so many ways. My first thought was on denim in different washings. It would also be gorgeous on warm knits or leather. It suits the colors of 2016, at least one of them, serenity. These darker tones suit the fall season, cooler weather and heavier materials. Are you also feeling like fall already?

Nothing says it better than Pantone themselves. These warm tones are a nice contrast with the above cooler tones. It’s not so strange that there are two major color groups as the colors of 2016 are also built from two colors. Besides serenity (light blue) there is also rose quartz (light pink). Shiny fabrics, satins, patched and structured leathers but also knits and velvet are perfect for these tones.

The bright contrast colors are called exotic. I can see why. The warm yellow named “spicy mustard” has been around longer and I’m happy to see it stays a little longer. Also the warm tone of orange “potter’s clay” is beautiful. The green “lush meadow” will be a pretty color too. Something you didn’t know, I so-don’t-like purple! So this “bodacious” will have to proof itself to me.
