A review of my current favorite shampoo & conditioner from inecto coconut. Lovely locks and an amazing fragrance, plus no unwanted additives
Last year my hair dresser told me to stop using hair products with silicons and parabens. I stopped immediately and it was the best thing ever for my hair. Up to today I’m so happy with her advise!
HEALTHY HAIR
Products which promises to make you hair danse work for me but only temporarily. It looks like it works for a short period of time and then all of a sudden is stops. Like my hair is getting used to it or something, which results into sleek and soft hair. Something I always try to avoid. What happens is that it ends up adding layer over layer on your hair up to a point it’s too heavy to lift up anymore. No more volume and everything starts to fall apart.
At the hair salon they gave me a special treatment to get rid of all those extra layers. I got to start with a clean slet and bought perfect products, the right shampoo and conditioner for my hair. Unfortunately I’m no longer in the position to afford such products each month, so I wanted to search for a cheaper alternative. When shopping for vitamins at Holland & Garrett and noticed this brand, Inecto. This is something I’ve used in the past and I asked about its ingredients. The sales lady told me that all products in their shop are free of additives (like silicones and parabens) so this was as well, yeah!
INECTO SHAMPOO COCONUT
When you squeeze the product out of the bottle it’s a thick substance. Since it consists of coconut oil it becomes more liquid in my hands, because of its warmth. I like it because this makes it easier to spread out in my air while washing it. I use a little more per wash, about 1,5 times this amount. Mostly I wash it two times, with every shampoo I use by the way. After making my hair all wet I massage it in and let it set for a couple of minutes before washing it out. The smell is fantastic and my hair gets really soft even before using the conditioner. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it foam a lot less.
shop the inecto coconut shampoo
ingrediënts shampoo: Aqua (Water/EAU), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide DEA, Lauryl Betaine, Glycol Distearate, Stareth-4, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Polyquaternium-10, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride. this has been updated, please check before buying
INECTO CONDITIONER COCONUT
The conditioner has a thicker structuren and smells just as lovely as the shampoo, a light coconut scent. I only use this product in the ends of my hair, so that they come out less dry. The amount I use it like this in my hand, maximum, I don’t need a lot. It divides easily over my hair and it washes out like any other brand conditioner. Because of the little amount I need I use twice as less conditioner compared to the shampoo.
REVIEW my opinion
Years ago I’ve used this brand and I knew how good coconut oil is for the body and hair. Why I don’t know but I switched brand once. Now I’m back using it for a couple of month already and I’m very pleased with it. It’s very affordable and it really does wonders for my hair, it looks healthier and it has a nice shine. Since I lightened up my hair I need to take of it even more and this is really helping.
- €4,99 each, both the shampoo as the conditioner
- 500 ml
- coconut scent
The coconut scent is lovely and it’s not too much, something I’m always afraid of with hair products. The perfumed smell is not too much and it doesn’t stays on too long, once rinsed it’s gone. I wash it out properly, as I don’t want any residue in my hair left. Mostly I buy them when they’re 1+1 on sale as I only use this brand (and my blue shampoo). If you don’t like this scent there is also a line with arganoil.
which shampoo and conditioner is your favourite?

november 13, 2019Hi Christine, thank you for your message. Indeed this has been a while ago by now; they have indeed changed their ingredients :-(

november 12, 2019Dear the bigger blog.
Thanks for writing this, it’s a good read. Please can you tell me how old it is? I notice the ingredients on the Coconut shampoo include methylisothiazolinone and chloromethylisothiazolinone. I’ve just bought a bottle, but these ingredients aren’t mentioned, so I’m wondering whether Inecto have changed the formula recently, or they’ve stopped listing these two ingredients..? I’d appreciate any help with this.
Thanks so much
Christine
