A mix of style, print and color. The details are in the pied-the-poule check & pink highlights
It was such a day when you would look outside you felt like going out into the world. The sun was out and it even looked like spring was on its way. Until I took one step outside in these pink boots and noticed it was freezing cold and lots of wind. We were planning to go to the south to visit relatives so on we went and stopped in our old home town, Dordrecht. This has such beautiful streets and scenery that I was determined to take photos, cold or not. We made these shots in my old street, the Wijnstraat.
The search for the right pied-de-poule blazer too me months! I started out at thrift shops because I wanted a baggy blazer. However baggy and me don’t go together so all the blazers were much too wide on the shoulders and looked rediculous. And how heavy is a men’s blazer, yikes! Also checked several shops, online stores but they were all too plain or not my fit. Till I received the parcel with this one in it, it was love at first sight. Light weight, slightly padded on the shoulders, nicely shaped and still baggy, the perfect blazer.
“I fell in love & I fell hard”
Something I write all the time is that I can fall in love with a garment. I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. How I know is when I want to wear it every day and want to style it ten different ways. In this case it’s not that hard to style, the black and white check is easy to combine. The pink stripe caught my eye, as always, and made me style it with this old jumper and new pink boots. Come to think of it, this whole look exists of love items, because these jeans are the same! Once I tried it from the box I haven’t stopped wearing it!
The jacket is oversized and I’m wearing a size EU 46 (UK18) and it’s still wide enough. It’s made of a slight weight material so it has a nice drape to it. The jumper is from a heavy sweat material and wears perfect on such a cold day, it’s a UK size 20 and fits me well. The jeans have the perfect fit if you’d ask me. When my bum doesn’t need a belt to keep it up there, the fit is very good. At least for me, as my waist hip ratio are a bit off as you know. It’s a bit too long (or I am a bit too short) but that didn’t even bother me. And those pink boots, love!
