Spring is here and this weekend was the first warm day. That means bare legs and being outside, but in the back yard. Comfortable yet fashion, my new safari dress
During the quarantine days we have to get creative. Working from home, not going out and helping each other to our capability. It’s been a few weeks now and the warm weather is very welcome. I needed some more space and enjoying our small back yard feels like an addition to our everyday-the-same-space living room. The situation really has a negative effect on my mood, even though working hard to ignore that and making the best of it.
At the moment shopping is not an option and I heard that many of you really miss it. Personally I found it difficult to make fashion content; there are such serious issues in the world. Who worries about their outfit? But after a few weeks in this, I noticed I liked the positive vibe of random chats about fashion and beauty. It makes life feel normal again for a little bit. So I decided to proceed with posting as well. Since I received some cute items for spring, I might as well show them!
WHAT AM I WEARING?
The safari dress I am wearing is made of a fine woven cotton and wears very pleasant during the warm days. It’s made of a fine twill which makes the fabric optically heavy but wears very light. The dress is a size 46-48 (UK 16-18) and fits me perfectly. It’s spacious at the top because of the lowered shoulder seams and the pleats at the back; though it’s normal lose fitted at the hips.
In order to break the dress a little I am wearing a belt which I have for many, many years. I love how it shapes the dress and still looks casual. People don’t want to wear beige colors as they feel it makes them look pale. I don’t mind that. If you do, why don’t you try it with a bright lipstick to brighten up the colors in your face. It really works.
Officially the dress is a tunic and this is because of the slits at the side. Since the front and back are long enough to wear as a dress, I just wear it with bare legs. Underneath I am wearing the cotton bicycle shorts in cotton. Perfect for this kind of weather and ideal to pretend those chafing thighs. I’ve paired it with the brown cowboy boots, keeping it casual. It’s the perfect combination when it’s warm enough without tights but still a bit chilly.
