The motto shop your shape, not your size is how I roll. That little size number in the back of your neck doesn’t really anything. The same applies during my pregnancy, creative shopping it is!
Whoever says that maternity wear is always boring doesn’t shop the right way. I must admit, it does take a creative eye and thinking outside the box. Though there are lots of items you can wear during your pregnancy which is practical and convenient, as you can still wear it post partum. This outfit is the example of a creative shopping day, together with my gran whom you’ve seen on my insta stories before.
Shopping is my kind of top sport though tagging along a 94 year old woman can be exhausting. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping with my gran but being pregnant does takes it toll on my body. Nonetheless I do have a positive mindset and so I just decided to buy everything and fit it at home at ease. On my way home I couldn’t stop thinking about this dress which is a good sign in my case. I do admit I am a shopaholic and I also get a lot of fashion gifts. So whenever my heart skips a beat over a fashion item, it must be good!
It happened with this dress and once at home I wanted to try it immediately. I had my doubts because woven dresses without stretch don’t always match my chunky arms and shoulders. So you can imagine how happy I was when the dress fitted me perfectly. Obviously the waistline is normally a little lower but my baby bump just pushed it up a little, which I covered up with this belt. The skirt part is pleated and falls over my belly perfectly.
The dress is from the regular collection which goes up to a EU size 48, which I am wearing here. This is a UK size 20 and fits me perfectly. Please find below all shopping details on my outfit. The dress has a high neck collar which buttons at the back for closure. There is a zip in the side seam but I haven’t used it. In fact I just found out after wearing it several times, lol! What I love are the smocked cuffs and collar which makes it very comfortable in wearing. The dress is fully lined with a jersey lining, so no transparency and very comfortable. I wear it with bare legs but it’s also fun with tights. And a fun styling tip, pair it with a jumper in red or bright pink, love it!
