Planned a sunny day in spring, in stead I’m singing in the rain in my polkadot raincoat
I had it all planned out, my perfect polka dot coat combined with my new yellow handbad amongst the most beautiful flowers, daffodils. What was I thinking? I live in Holland, where it often rains. After rain comes sunshine, and it did. A great way to test this trenchcoat -which became a raincoat- too.
This polkadot trenchcoat is dark blue with little white dots. The big lapel collar, the belt and the wider bottom hem make it a perfect in-between-season coat. It’s water proof, wind proof -not officially but I tested it and it’s unlined, so perfect for spring.
I’m singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin’ I’m happy again
I’m laughing at clouds So dark up above
The sun’s in my heart
And I’m ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain I’ve a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin’,
Singin’ in the rain
This coat is not from a plus size brand, it’s from the Dutch retailer DIDI and goes up to a size XXL which is 46 (or size UK 18). Another example to shop your shape and not your size. It’s difficult to shop a coat, since my top part and bottom part are different sizes but because of the wider bottom hem this coat fits me perfectly. I love the belt too, as it’s emphasizes the waist. Of course you could wear this the classic way with jeans and ankle boots but I went for the high heels and tights. To pop some color I chose this bright yellow handbag from H&M which is actually the perfect size bag. To get that spring feeling I am wearing this bright pink color on my lips from Catrice and a white cotton beret.
