A few days in a bubble of happiness and tranquility when we were enjoying a mini vacation. Completely well rested in style on our way home

Last week Dennis, our daughter Charlotte and I went on a holiday. Who would have imagined us going on a trip in these insecure times of covid-19 and all restrictions. The weather was perfect and felt like summer so my suitcase was packed with new, sunshine ready items like this shirtdress. It was perfect for the occasion as it’s a fancy hotel so I decided to dress up and look posh and all. This shirtdress was a good match as it has a slightly longer sleeve, a proper collar and a preppy stripe design; just how I like it.

The hotel is situated in the middle of an estate so everywhere you look you see trees, beautiful flowers and greens. Just before we headed home we made these photos, in front of the immense restaurant. This is what I was wearing that day, which we started with a luxurious breakfast out on the terrace. After that we went for a bicycle ride around the country side and after the fresh air we checked out and went home, completely well rested and happy.

During the trip I realised that we should do this more often, on a trip in our own country. Often we go to family in Mallorca or visit the holiday home in the south of France but why not stay here and enjoy our own country. These are the little positive things the stupid covid-19 virus brought us, if you can even speak of something positive. Perhaps it’s just because my inner battery is recharged now and feeling zen?

WHAT AM I WEARING?

The shirtdress is made of a soft, stretchy material and wears very light and comfortable plus it’s perfect for warmer days. The main component of the fabric is cotton so it absorbs warmth in summer. I am wearing a size EU 50 (which is a size UK 22) so I guess it’s a slight tighter fit than usual for me. It has slits on the side and a small turn up on the sleeves, which makes it more sportive. What I like about the fit is the slightly longer short sleeves – can you still follow me?

Along with the dress comes a belt in self fabric but I decided to replace it with a metal belt. It’s a gold color elasticated belt which I had bought for a wedding last year and still wearing it on summer days. Underneath the dress I am wearing a white cami in cotton because I don’t like too much cleavage, plus a short cotton biker legging for chafing. But also to prevent showing too much as we went cycling as well. Shop all items here:
